Overview
Run enterprise PostgreSQL and lead migrations to it from Sybase and Oracle, with strong performance engineering.
What you'll do
- Design, build and administer PostgreSQL
- Migrate Sybase and Oracle to PostgreSQL, including schema and code conversion
- Validate and reconcile data for migrations
- Tune performance and optimise queries
- Run replication, high availability, backup and point-in-time restore
- Run AWS-hosted PostgreSQL on RDS and Aurora
- Support migrated applications in production
What you bring
- Hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience in enterprise estates
- Proven migration experience to PostgreSQL
- Strong SQL, PL/pgSQL and stored-procedure skills
- Performance tuning and execution-plan analysis
- HA and backup tooling such as Patroni, pgBackRest or Barman
- Linux and shell scripting
- Incident and change-management discipline
